When do you test your levels?

Question

Are you checking your blood sugar levels one hour after a meal or 2 hours? Does it matter which one? I was told to do one hour but if I couldn't make it by the one hour then wait til it's been 2 hours.

I was told either was fine. I think my clinic prefers 2hrs but I tend to do it at 1 because it’s easier. Doesn’t make much difference other than the range is different at each time. 
The rare time I get a high reading at 1 hr I check again at 2 if I can

I've been told to check 1½ hour after a meal.
But if I can't, just try to do it as close to that as possible and note that I made a early or late reading.
