Bleeding on BC pill?

I've been on the pill for over 3 months now and right now I'm on the placebo pills for my period. Well about two weeks ago (and two weeks after my period started) I started bleeding. It was very heavy enough to call it a period but it wasn't spotting either. Somewhere in between. The first month on these pills I wasn't very good at taking them everyday. But since then I've been really good at taking them at the same time everyday so I don't understand why I would bleed. also, I've been getting major clear thick discharge like non stop since then which is really unusual for me. Anyone have any ideas? I'm still so confused by the pill.
