Bumbo seat... yes? No?

Okay, pros and cons for bumbo seat used on the floor with straps and tray??
My daughter is four months and can roll over and is beginning to try to sit.. we use the Bumbo mainly for feeding oatmeal since we just started her on it. But are the actually okay to use developmentally?

No, not a fan of them considering the stories I heard with how dangerous they can be. They can tip over even with your infant is strapped into it.

They're bad for hips, a hard no from me. Just let them practice sitting with no support. It's safer, and you'll know when thru can actually sit, rather than lean

We didn’t use it because I didn’t like how the hard plastic forcing leg positions. We used the Fischer price sit me up, which is fabric and less structured. He sat in that for maybe 15-20 min if we used it until he sat by myself. Oddly he fell asleep in it more often than not. We use the high chair for all meals.

We use it for my son we did with my first but we were always right there with them and its always on the flour

We liked the sit me up better. We never used our bumbo seat, I actually sold it. He LOVED the sit me up though.

I used a sit me up at home (after deciding it was the better option) but daycare has bumbos. Guess which he liked better? Ugh lol His legs are chunky so he was kinda stuck in the bumbo but he's a nosy little dude so he didn't mind. I think as long as you have baby in your immediate eyesight and on the floor by you, then whatever you choose is fine. Baby makes the decision at the end of the day, regardless of the research and money spent

Nope do not feed your child in the bumbo. It positions the baby’s hips lower than their legs which poses a big choking. 
If they’re not able to sit up by them selves you shouldn’t be forcing them to sit up using a contraption. It can definitely delay things and cause developmental issues.
