Baby is getting “greedy”?

He used to drink only 2 1/2 oz after he was born, he’s a little over two weeks and drinks 3 1/2 oz. sometimes 4oz and wants more. Do I give him more or just try and get him to sleep? (I give him a soother and rock him to sleep) is that bad? Should I be giving him what he wants or.. I’m a FTM.

Give baby what they want. There is no such thing as a “greedy” baby

If he’s hungry, feed him.

Is he spitting up a lot or excessively gassy? If not then he’s not overeating and you should continue.

Now the thing is, babies will require more food as they get bigger. Feed on demand. Baby is too little rn to be put on a feeding schedule.

If he’s bottle fed try to slow down his pace so he has time to feel full. Try a smaller nipple and try not to just hold it to where he is sucking it down with out breaks. It’s called paced feeding, look it up!

My son was on 4 ounces when he was 2 weeks old and a week after that we started putting rice in his bottles (with the permission from his pediatrician of course).

That’s a lot for a 2 week old. Does he seem content after eating that much or still fussy? My LO did that also and turned out we were way over feeding her and just making her tummy ache worse. Babies didn’t know better and eat for comfort. She did much better when we cut down.

And here I'm worried that my son who is almost 5 weeks can eat up to 4 oz at once sometimes.... but doc say they cant over eat and even if they do they just spit it up
