Baby won't sleep except in my lap. Anyone else?

My 6 mo prefers to sleep on my lap for the last 2 days. As soon as I put him down he wakes up. I tried letting him sleep from 5 min to 1 hr and all duraration in between. He still wakes up and cries the moment his back touches the mattress. How to solve this?

Idk how. But just wanted to let you you’re not alone! My daughter is doing this also. I’ve tried it all. Sometimes one thing will work but it’s never consistent. 
It’ll come to an end tho!

I started wrapping a blanket around her so when she hit the bed the cool sheets wouldn’t wake her up. Somewhat works.

Mine was exactly the same  so I tried to get her to sleep on a pillow ( a very very thin soft pillow) with half her body on the pillow and rest on the bed... initially she would wake up after 10-15 mins of sleeping but slowly she adjusted and now sleeps peacefully on the bed once I have rocked her to sleep.

I've held my daughter for every nap since she was born. She won't let me put her down when she's awake, let alone for a nap.
