Sleep help/Merlin/dockatot 😴😭

Kendra

Trying to figure out what to do. LO is 20 weeks and only sleeps well in her dockatot. If she is sleeping in the dockatot, she will put her self to sleep, and sleep through the entire night without waking. If I put her in the crib, she constantly throws herself around and wakes her self up constantly throughout the night. I’ve used love to dream, halo, and zipadee zip and nothing helps. She appears to need the dock to keep her still at night. Neither my husband or myself are crazy about continuing to use the dock, but I don’t know what to do. So my questions are

1. Has anyone that has used the dock successfully transitioned out of it, and how did you do it

2. If anybody is using the Merlin, does it help keep them still? She can roll both ways but Has difficulty getting back to her back if she rolls to her stomach which also wakes her up. I don’t know if the Merlin would be able to stop her while she sleeps?

Pictures below are from her sleeping in the dock and her sleeping in the crib

Why do you want to transition her out of it? Maybe start with putting the dock a tot inside the crib so she gets used to the different environment while still having the same comfort? I imagine the airflow is different when she’s in the crib so she might be colder than usual, plus she isn’t used to having so much space.

We just aren’t comfortable with the suffocation potential if she were about to roll out of the dock in her crib..if she rolled out in bed with us it would obviously wake us, but with her in another room it just feels to risky for us 😩 I think we’re just gonna load up on Starbucks and try and go cold turkey this weekend 😂

We use a memory foam pad in his crib which cuts back on the rolling. He would sleep great in our bed for naps so we tried it in the crib.

That’s what my son slept in too. I think it’s sorta the same reason they struggle though, cause both make them feel secure and wrapped up

We didn’t use the dock a tot but the memory foam helped us transition out of the rock n play. Memory foam mattress with a plush sheet. He loves putting his cheek against the bed... that’s how he puts him self to sleep

The Merlin sleepsuit can’t be used if baby is rolling. :/ because of its weight and size, the baby could get stuck and possibly suffocate so they recommend once they start rolling to transition them out.
