Evening Primrose oil

My husband and I are TTC again and it was suggested to me by a friend that I try EPO to help with ovulation but I have read some scary things about it and being someone who has been pregnant twice and miscarried with both I want to be overly cautious about what I do and I am still trying to find a doctor or midwife in my area that fully supports my wishes in keeping things as natural as possible so I am afraid my current OB will have a bias opinion. What are your thoughts? Also, any suggestions for herbal remedies to help with TTC will be greatly appreciated!
