Baby inhaled poop?

So I delivered my baby via emergency c section due to her heart rate slowing down. And now she’s in the nicu because she inhaled poop while in my uterus. She’s now on a ventilator because she can’t breathe on her own. I’m so sad and wonder what I did wrong for this to happen. Has this happened to any of you and your baby got better?

It’s more common then you hear about . More often then not it’s nothing you did wrong. How far along where you? It’s very common in moms who were over due , also Baby could have gotten stressed from how strong moms contractions where ect . More then likely you may not ever know what caused it. Almost all
Babies even up recovering from this

My baby swallowed some poop as well as blood from getting her lip pinched. We got lucky she needed no help. You did nothing wrong. Hugs to you

This happened to me as a baby and my friend's baby just had this happen. Almost happened with our daughter but luckily she wasn't in respiratory distress so no NICU.
It's much more common but no one talks about it.  Be strong momma! Baby will pull thru!

Same thing happened to my daughter at 36 weeks... I had her in December. We had to stay in the hospital for 7 days. She was in distress and heartbeat was 200bpm when she was born. She is 2 months old now and  healthy!

You did nothing wrong!! My sister’s stepdaughter did the same thing when she was in the uterus. She had some breathing problems and was on the ventilator too. She’s a very healthy, normal 8yo now.
