If you knew your baby would have downs syndrome or a birth defect would you still go through with the pregnancy?

Yes. Wouldn’t love him/her any less. Only thing I would do different is get more educated about it and try to prepare more. Get more of an idea of what to expect.

They told me my son would have down syndrome. They said I should terminate. They wanted to test my fluid and I said no!! And guess what.. he came out with no down syndrome.. I told the doctor I didn't want to know, and I would love him and care for him no matter what.

It would be a long discussion and confirmation testing and more discussion . But downs is not all pretty like social media shows. There are major major other health issues , it’s not just about how the baby looks . So I’d lean more toward termination

I would terminate. My husband and I discussed this when I was pregnant with our last baby and that's why we did the nipt. We're older parents and we didn't want to leave the our older child with the responsibility.

No. It is why we tested early With the NIPT screening. I am a high risk pregnancy as it is and mandatory c-section. My husband and I discussed it prior to even starting to conceive and decided if testing came back with a significant defect we would terminate.

My first instinct was absolutely. Then i realized i never even asked my husband this, i read him the post and he said “Nothing would make me love the child more or less, nothing would want me to have you terminate a pregnancy unless it was way too serious for you.”
