D&C report

Can someone help me understand what this means? I just got a call from my dr and I had my surgery 2 days ago. All she told me was that the pathology came back as “a first trimester loss”. What does that even mean? Obviously it was that because I was 8 weeks. She acted like it was bad news and she said she hates having to tell women this after a MC. Like it’s worse than anything else that could be a reason why I miscarried? Confused.
