For the mom's out there how do you deal with your 5-10 months baby has this? My SIL has this issue and she's totally overwhelmed by it, the baby won't even stay by her father let alone picked up by the grandmother. In my earlier child Dev. Class, I've learned you have to let the child cry but acknowledge their distress, introduce the baby by frequent visits to imidiate family, which neither does my SIL. As some of us in the family agree that as soon as the child makes a face she gets picked up.

How do you deal with this?
