Would it be bad if a 14yr old got a naval piercing?

i’m 14 and i’ve wanted a naval pierced for over a year. My sister got her tongue pierced at 14 so i feel like i should be allowed to do this. i am willing to pay for everything ( including the tip ). my mom said she is still deciding but my dad ( who’s abusive ) is totally against it because of his parents.

I mean ultimately it's up to your parents. I think getting your tongue pierced at 14 is way worse then your belly button. For me I would allow my 16 year old daughter get her belly button or nose pierced (and of course ears if she doesn't already have those pierced) anything else she'll have to wait to she's 18.

My mom let me get mine done when I was 15.  I’m now 27 and have been through one pregnancy and still have it.  My goodness, are you 14?  This makes me feel so old 😩

I got mine pierced when I was 15 and  it’s three years later and it healed just fine and I don’t regret it at all. You just need to talk your parents into it

I let my daughter get her nose pierced at 15. I personally dont think you should get your belly button pierced at 14. Maybe wait a little longer. I don't agree with your parents decision on allowing your sister to pierce her tongue at 14. I didnt get mine till I was 26. That was years ago. Maybe get a second hole in your ears. If you have them pierced already.

Your body is potentially still growing and that can cause issues with the piercing during and even after healing. Naval piercings can be really tricky in general and tend to migrate or reject so as much as you don't want to it is definitely better to wait.
