Nobody said anything was wrong with not breastfeeding?!

So I’m in a few groups on Facebook and I swear over the past few weeks I’ll see a comment or a post that says “I breastfeed” not even bashing people who can’t/don’t breastfeed and someone else will comment “not everyone can breastfeed” like nobody freaking said anything about others not breastfeeding they were just stating that they choose to breastfeed?

It is annoying i must agree but the other way around is very common too where breastfeeding moms will just say: well did you give it a try?
I think everyone should just mind their own buisness and everything would be better lol 😂

I do think a lot of times people need to step back, re read posts, and think, “is there anything wrong with this? Is it being directly judgemental? No?... Then my defensive feelings don’t need to be spoken at this moment.”
This world is so full of mom shamers that many of us start to have knee jerk reactions to everything. I actually stopped myself from replying to someones post defensivly the other day.

I’m completely surrounded by women who both breastfed and didn’t breastfeed and I find that it’s a battle of the psychological stigma more than anything.  I have friends who made excuses for a long time as to ‘why they couldn’t’ simply because they didn’t like being tied to a pump or nursing all the time.  I also have others that to have secondary surgeries or procedures following their deliveries and physically could not feed their babies.  🤷‍♀️ who gives a shit, do what works for you and if you don’t agree with someone else then stay out of it.  You don’t see people getting so worked up about what kind of car they chose to buy.

Yeah I see soooo many more defensive comments than I do shaming comments. In fact, I don’t remember a single time where I heard or saw a comment of someone bashing moms who don’t breastfeed. I’ve only seen comments of moms feeling judged by moms who mention anything about breastfeeding. I feel like I shouldn’t even bring it up anymore because someone will get upset. ☹️

I too get annoyed that it is such a sore subject for some that they literally can't even have a normal conversation or to just do them & not feel the need to make those that do breastfeed to feel bad. But just recognizing where that comes from helps it all run off my back. I'm not going to apologize for breastfeeding. I'm also not going to condemn you for choosing formula or not being able to for whatever reason. I get it. It sucks. I have a few friends who tried their hardest & shed tears over not being able to but they also didn't hate other moms who did.
