Water was broke for 9 days! Birth Story
So here is my birth story. My son was born 1/31/19. Its late but I am only sharing this to help prevent another woman making my mistake. I am very embarrassed that my water was broken for so long and I didn't know so please no judging (as alot of nurses during my stay at the hospital had.)
So my husband, son, and I where out shopping and getting some things we needed. We where at Pet Smart getting dog shampoo when I had a small gush of fluid come out. I had just assumed it was pee due to the baby laying on my bladder or something. Than I started cramping. I just assumed it was Braxton hicks contractions and went on my way. Well this continued for nine days. I had a prenatal appointment on the ninth day and was telling the OB about these small gushes and cramps so she decided to take a sample and it came back positive as amniotic fluid. I was sent directly to the hospital. In less than 30 minutes and 3 different IV antibiotics later, I was having a repeat cesarean and had my baby boy. I thank God he is okay. I felt so dumb and horrible about the whole situation. If you think your water broke go to the hospital. It's not worth it to brush it off and assume its nothing. I could have had serious problems but thankfully I had only minor issues and even went home on the second day. He is happy and healthy and turned 3 weeks today! Moral of the story; It's better to go to the hospital and be sent home as a false alarm than to risk your baby.
** some other tell tail signs I had where the random gushes of fluid, cramps, extreme fatigue, just felt like something was off, the fluid smelt musty not like urine, no matter how much water I drank I was dehydrated, and I had no appetite.

Excuse my puffy face. It was itchy and swollen due to a reaction from one of the 3 antibiotics.
