If it’s just going to be a small family get together then I would say buy the stuff a few weeks before the party.

Look on Amazon for fun stuff! Some of it takes a while to get Soni would go ahead and order. I like to be prepared and have time to decide things without the pressure. Pinterest gave me a lot of great ideas for my littlest ones first birthday last month.
