My friend’s ex husband cheated on her while in the military. They had agreed to divorce but then he just ghosted her & still used her name to get a house & an allowance, she called his officer or whoever & I think like a month later he was discharged from the army. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I honestly think there should be more of a line between professional and private life. I think they should have to seek counseling or other services but shouldn’t be kicked out immediately and it made public. I understand they are treated differently because representing their country but I also feel people make mistakes and it should ruin their life... they shouldn’t be able to go on with their life like nothing happened but shouldn’t ruin it

As a woman in the service it’s a hard NO. Move on with your life. Finding your happiness shouldn’t be based on ruining a person’s career. There’s a very clear line between personal and professional boundaries. Additionally there’s no reason to air dirty laundry and bring people into a marriage they have no business being involved in. All you do is cause yourself more harm.

I think it’s great the military sees adultery as something so dishonorable it warrants discharge. However, if the cheating spouse loses all benefits this will affect the partner too because then there won’t be money for alimony or child support. 
This happened to a friend of my husband’s. His father cheated on his wife for years and she was ready to tell his bosses but my mother in law advised her against it. If he lost benefits then the whole family would suffer.
