Epidural or pethidine and gas?

Ladies what are your opinions and experiences of the above? I personally don't see a point in getting the epidural IF contractions are managable. But if they are really bad I will opt for the epi. Keep in mind I'm a ftm💜

For myself the epidural with all 3 of my other boys was a lifesaver. I will be getting it with my fourth as well. I was induced with 2 of my boys so it helped with letting me sleep

The problem with epidural is, it might seem manageable at the time where you can get it.
I'm planning on listening to my midwife. It's not a closed door but it's not my first choice either.
But a family member who recently gave birth called it a life saver after 14 hours of contractions. She was exhausted at that point and it helped a lot.

The epidural was my best friend with both of my previous deliveries, and I will absolutely get the epidural with this one once I can't handle the pain anymore but before the window of opportunity closes. I'm getting  induced next week❣️ Our rainbow baby girl will be born on Thursday February 28th at 38wks 3days (her due date was March 11th)❣️

I got the epidural with my first after 30 hours I labor and have had back problems ever since... had pethidine and gas with my second and with my third I only had the gas... will probably just go for the gas this time too
