Planning the timing?

Did anyone try to plan when you had your baby? Did it work? What are some good times of year (other than summer) to have to be on maternity leave? Any struggles that you ran into?

We planned to get pregnant in May so I was off feb-end of May. Then I go back to work for 19 school days and then have summer!

I didn’t plan, because my body had a plan of it’s own and we were trying for over a year, but I ended up accidentally timing it really well.
Pregnant in the winter months, due with a May baby. It’s meant the early days of pregnancy where you’re absolutely exhausted were in September/October where the nights and mornings aren’t so dark. The heavier days have been over Christmas/new year and winter so I’m not getting too hot or uncomfortable in the night, and when I go off on maternity leave it’ll be the start of summer/end of spring so hopefully nice light mornings and warm days meaning I’ll be encouraged to leave the house and go on walks

Had baby March 18 and have enough paid sick leave to go through end of school year. Then it will be paid summer break . So I got to stay home with baby for five months and returned to work in August.

We didn’t plan with our first, but it worked out pretty well. She was born the beginning of November and I took through the end of January which was when we switched semesters anyway. 
Next one we are hoping to have a March baby and then I’d be off until August.

I wanted a spring break baby. It’s 10 months later and still no baby.

A lot of people I know plan their baby for spring break. That way you get the remainder of the year off on FMLA and then have the summer off too. 
I planned mine for winter break because I’m doing extended leave through the end of the year.

I was trying for a year with no luck but the timing worked perfect for me with an early June Baby. I don't have much leave because I'm only in my 2nd year. If I didnt have in June I would take a pay loss. I did sign for disability before I got pregnant so now I get my summer paycheck plus some.
