Transverse baby
The midwife has been about unsure and confused about what position my baby is in for the whole of my third trimester so today at 35 weeks they checked with ultrasound. Turns out he is transverse meaning that his back is down, his head is in my right side and his legs in my left side. This means that at the moment vaginal delivery would be impossible for me. 😔
I’m going back again next week to check if it changes but if it doesn’t they are going to try turning him at the hospital.
I’m quite freaked out because a c-section is the last thing I want and I feel like the likelihood of that has just massively increased. The turning procedure also sounds very painful, especially since my belly is really sore and even routine checks and prods hurts.
Anyone else had a similar experience and what was the outcome?
I know there is still time and I would love to go in next week and see him head down. Any tips for encouraging him to turn? I’ve found quite a lot by googling but personal recommendations are always good.
