VBAC gone very right

Kelsey

I'm a night shift worker I had been having contractions all day on the 13th but I didn't take them seriously it because I was only 35 weeks. I leave for work about 9:30 and I realized during my 30 minute drive that I had had four contractions during shift change I had a few more so when I sat down I started timing them they were 5 to 7 minutes apart I decided just to work on because they weren't painful enough for me to not be able to handle them. Well that one on all night and about 3 in the morning they got to the point where they were 3 to 5 minutes apart and pretty painful I was moaning and groaning so finally about 5 a.m. I went in. I was 4 centimeters dilated so they admitted me. Being that early they don't do anything to help move along which I am grateful for I didn't want pitocin as I read that it was a factor for uterine rupture I ended up being in labor for 46 hours and had my little baby boy at 7:29 on the 16th of February I waited until I was 8 cm dilated to get the epidural he broke my water at 9 I pushed once and his little head popped out and again for his body all within the same contraction. The doctors and nurses were surprised one of them even said hey I hope you don't expect that with all of them I got to do skin to skin as soon as he was out I got a second degree tear it was more than I could have asked for the pain from the vaginal birth was so much less than the Cesarean I was able to care for my 18 month old right away and not have to worry about hurting myself we were in the hospital for a while cuz he had low sugars from being a preemie he was six point 1 lb 18in long the smallest little guy I've ever

seen.
