Back labor?

Can you have contractions just in your back? Last night I was having back pains that were timetable and lasted a few hours, but they mostly stayed in my back and only a few came around the front. They were about 10-15 minutes apart and lasted for about 45 seconds and then just completely stopped all of a sudden. But does that count as actual contractions? They were super painful too.

Oh yes sweetie. The day I was going into labor my contractions were coming through my back. I was in so much pain until the epidural

YES. It was all in the back for me! I could time the pain and when I went in to get checked at triage, the nurse said “if it’s in the back it’s not real labor” and I thought to myself “you gotta be kidding me lady! If this isn’t the real deal yet I’m not gonna survive real contractions” — she then monitored my belly and confirmed that those were indeed contractions, I just happened to feel them in the back only. It continued like this until baby was here! So yes, that’s definitely possible.

Yes. I had back labor. I never felt any contractions in the front only in my lower back

I had back labor with my daughter. I got a back ache on Thursday afternoon and my water broke on Friday around 11:00 AM at 36+3. I had her on 1/25. I never really had contractions in my stomach. It was all in my back. They had to put an internal monitor because they could not pick up my contractions because they were in my back. As soon as I got my epidural, I couldn't feel them anymore.

Mine were exactly the same and we're pretty spaced out so I didn't wanna go to the hospital but finally went in amd was 6cm dilated !

Yes but it’ll likely be in between contractions and you’ll still feel the tightening. Before I got my epidural my contractions were super deep down and they also hurt really bad
