My periods have been irregular for three years now and I’ve gone up to a month without one. My mom says when she was a teenager she was diagnosed with ovarian cysts. I’ve been having sharp quick pains near my ovaries and late periods—I’m wondering if I should talk to an OBGYN about the possibility of having PCOS?

A little bit more background (if that helps): I am overweight, I have a family history of diabetes as well!
