Has anyone else started potty training?

I’m a teacher and am going to give potty training a shot this summer break. I do take her into the bathroom with me often to help her understand what going to the bathroom in the potty is all about and hopefully make her understand better when it’s her turn to try. Also, let’s be honest, she has to go with me to the bathroom bc who know’s what trouble she’d get herself into if left alone 😂

My little girl started in January at just about 14 months. In December just to test I started by letting her sit in the bathroom with me then took off the diaper after she got used to sitting there. I try to take her regularly but now she's able to communicate she has to go most times. We have to work on her getting out of her clothes on her own but its also hard to find training pants that fit her (22lbs) they start around 25-28lbs.

I’ve just tried a few times. She has peed twice and pooped once!!! She was excited and clapping so that was a win for me...I will continue each morning with asking her to go. If she does great if not that’s okay too!!

My son pointed at the toilet when I took his diaper off for a bath today. So I sat him on there thinking he had to poop. He pushed a little bit and peed! I was excited but he got scared when I flushed the toilet. And so, I just ordered a potty off of Amazon and will officially begin potty training. Good luck!

My son will be 16months on the 7th. I got him a child sized toilet from Walmart on Monday. Tuesday I put him on it twice and he enjoys sitting on it while playing with toys/books. Yesterday during breakfast he farted and i asked if he had to go poopoo he said yes so I took away his cereal and he asked for it back. So I fed him the rest then took him. 5 minutes of sitting on it, he poops😭🚽Put him again before his shower after dinner, didn’t go. Pooped in his diaper later on and then told me 🤦‍♀️ Not sure where it’s going to go from here.

When my baby boy poops in his diaper he doesn’t completely finish in his diaper.. he will go a little at a time so when he does poop I put him on the toilet after cleaning him up.. he’ll finish in the potty (after a lot of encouragement) sometimes after his nap I’ll sit him on the toilet so he can get used to it. So far he’s coming along even tho I know he’s still too young

My daughter at 15 months is showing no signs of potty training yet. It’s not a good idea to start the process until they do. There is no rush. I’m looking forward to no diapers but I am not looking forward to the potty training again, and my son was easy 😆.
