I really hope you ladies can give me some insight/hope.

I nurse my 3 week old on demand and from my perspective & lactation consultants, she has a good latch. BUT she will nurse until letdown and then will fall asleep a couple of minutes afterwards. As soon as I move her, she’s awake and ravenous because she’s still hungry from not eating enough because she fell asleep. We repeat this process for an hour until I get frustrated enough to give her a bottle. I’ve had to start bottle feeding her at night while I pump because she’d have us awake for more than an hour at a time. I know she has a small mouth (according to her pedi).

I get the lipstick nipple when she eats so I know somethings not correct with her latch.

I don’t think she’s efficiently removing the milk and that’s why she gets tired/bored and falls asleep.

Is there anything else I can do here??

Will she outgrow this as she gets bigger?
