I moved abroad for better health care. My periods have been messy to say the least (2 a month then nothing for muttiple months then a 6 month long period its all over the place)

In my old country this is what they said

We know you have issues

We dont know what those issues are

But you can take BC and that will most likely help

So i did. Turns out i cant be a on bc. Long story short after trying every availble product in my old country and all of them caused more side effect then not bleeding everyday for weeks on end so the doc reccomend against.

He said it was my choice either pick side effects or pic period issues

So I decided that wasnt good enough. If they cant fix it i at least want to know whats going on

So i am now abroad. Told the doctor this whole story.

From a to z with more details of the side effects, the amount of different pills i have been on ( 8! Each 3 months) and none of them actually really helped either

So this doctor says.

Wellll you are 19 and at that age your hormones havent really settled yet so i think that we should just put you on a different pill and we will see from there

I start wondering if this guy is listening to me. I told him I did 8 different pills, i felt supersick for 2 years in a row i refuse to take any birth control pills.

He tries to push a little then he lets it go and says wel okay we can try

Iboprofine. And wel... i said whats that supposed to do? And he says something about bringing down inflamation and pain douring periods and making them less heavy

None of which i complained about. Its not that they arent heavy or painfull, they can be debilitating but this doctor didnt know that because he didnt ask. My complaints were extremely ling and irregular periods without knowing the cause.

I told him I dont think that will help at all because those are not things im currently dealing with right now, and even if it was i am not interested in treating the symptoms im interested in knowing the cause

So he starts rambling on about how they first want to try some treatment before sending me to a specialist to get checked bc if the treatment works thats not neccesary blabla

And i told well i have great news. As you should be able to see in my medical file i was just on your exact treament less then 1 month before this for 2 entire weeks because I had the flu. The exact same amount he wanted to prescribe, the exact same form (powder not pills)

He kind of just blew over that and said i still need to try and I decided you know what

Fuck this

Fuck you

You are comepletly useless

I opened with i left my country because they were treating symptoms instead of finding a cause

You do the same

I tell you what meds I have been on before

You ignore it an reccomend treatment previous doctors have given to me or even said its probably best to not take those meds at all which btw was in my medical file in front of him.

I called the office after getting home and told them I was not happy with the answers to my medical questions and i feel like he didnt help me at all.

I asked if i can have an appointment with the doctor i had the time before once for the flu and once for my intake, but he was on vaction or something. Thankfully there is a third doctor at this office i have a new appointment next friday.

My usual doc so far has been wonderfull. A friend of mine goes to the one im seeing friday he said hes alright. I guess this one is the rotten apple in the batch

Gosh. When i walked out i was confused. Now im just angry. If you are a doctor listen to your patients.
