Best running shoes?

Question

I’m turning 16 in a week and I’m starting my track season in a week, take into account that I’m a distance runner and do mostly the mile over the 800, I wanted to ask around for opinions and for practices we run in the forest and trails and stuff. So far I’ve had mostly ASICS and wanna branch out lol idk do there are any fellow distance

I'm an Asics fan myself, though the toebox gets tight after 30k or so. I also ran a marathon in a pair of New Balance and have no complaints.
But I'm an endurance runner who runs mostly on paved roads and I need a lot of cushioning to protect my knees. I've ran 5-10ks in Nikes without a problem.
Like the other poster said, going to a specialized store for runners, especially for your first pair. You'll pay a little more, but for a reason. For your second, fourth, fifth pais you can go somewhere cheaper like footlocker. Just bring in your old ones and get the newest model.

Go to a shoe store meant for running. They usually have someone analyze your run and foot strike and will recommend a shoe based on that and what you do for training. 
These shoes can be pricy, so feel free to ask if they do online price matching or have last season’s model for a discount. 
If you have the money to spend buy one shoe for track and road workouts and one for trail. Not a big deal if you don’t though.
