Is there a way to completely block a category?

I don't want to see any controversy corner posts on my homepage. The amount of hate in those just brings my whole day down and a lot of the comments are very offensive to me. Is there a way to not see these posts on my homepage? I've deleted the category from the list at the top but I still see it on the "Top"/"New" tabs

Leave group. Go to more to see list then go to group then at the top choose to leave group.

are you following people?  if you are following someone and they post in CC you will see their post in your new and top feed.

Have you gone into your groups and hit leave next to CC?
