I don't know if this cat is calling out because of its estrus cycle or what, but for the past three nights there's this black stray cat that lives underneath the house next to mine that meows or yells really loud for no reason. The meow sounds like it is distressed or in danger but it is always too dark for me to find out. I went out one night to investigate and it came close to me but ran back under the house. This cat is literally sitting in the rain at 3 am just yelping. Heat or not, I felt sorry for it so I got an old cat carrier and I left food and an old shirt in it hoping to give it some shelter. I really wonder if it's in heat or just crazy lol
