Crying after bottle

Samantha

LO is 8 months next week. Sleeping 11 hours at night. Weaning off purées, doing great with table food, formula 8 oz 4 times a day. Been doing those size bottles since 4-5 months. Overall, pretty great baby 🙌. But he does the craziest (and most annoying) thing: he goes ballistic when his bottle is gone. Like it takes 5-10 min to calm him down. You’d think I ripped a limb off or something. It’s like he’s still hungry but I’m not going to increase his bottles at this age because he’s already at the max amount of formula. Plus I’m not going to make 2 bottles for a serving (our bottles only hold 8 oz). When he did this back in December, the dr suggested starting just oatmeal in between bottles since he wasn’t quite 6 months yet. That seemed to work great until a couple a weeks ago. I haven’t really been paying attention to the quantity of his table food (just variety of flavors and textures) because I was going off of “food before one is just for fun” concept but should I be making sure he gets a specific amount since it seems like he’s doing the “still hungry” thing? He’s a bigger boy (93rd percentile across the board) and he’s never seemed full his entire life so we’ve always tried to give him time after his feedings to let him recognize that he’s full. But he acts soooo upset that now I’m doubting myself if that’s the right thing to do. Suggestions? Advice? I used to look forward to our snuggle time during bottle sessions but now I’m starting to dread them 😔
