I had my daughter on the 21st and I've been breastfeeding since she came out and she started to cluster feed on the second day and I've been breastfeeding her so frequently that my nipples actually started to crack and even bleed a little. While I was in the hospital I did have a lactation consultant help me with her latch and so I believe she is latched on correctly but from what I was reading cracked nipples shouldn't really happen if it's correct. Is that the case even with cluster feedings? Can cluster feedings cause cracked nipples and discomfort?
