Guilty of giving baby nicknames...not the sweet kind
From the time I got pregnant, I think of baby in nick names but surprisingly nothing is sweet. Yet I love the baby so much
Bean: after I was the first scan at 7 weeks. He looked like a bean.
Alien: those days when his body was just made of a head and a smaller body. Those proportions.
Parasite: after my nutrient levels dropped because baby was taking everything and my feeding wasn't catching up
Night dancer: for the kicks at night
Still: for stopping to kick n staying still every time I get my video camera to catch the moment.
Shy: for hidding his face with his hand every time I take those expensive scans. I really want to get a portrait.
I never thought I would have such nicknames. Where I come from, it is a custom to give baby's their baby name. Which is a nick name and it is supposed to be sweet or describe the child a bit. This buys parents time before they get a real baby name.
