Is anyone else’s babies going through the strange danger phase where they are starting to recognize people they aren’t familiar with? My baby has been doing this for a few weeks now. And the worst part about it is, her grandma (my husbands mom) doesn’t get to see her but a few hours on the weekends and she cries and cries every time she tries to hold her or talk to her. I know it makes my mother in law upset because she knows she doesn’t see her enough but she can’t help it. My daughter saw her both days this weekend and Sunday she cried several times when she was holding her or when she started to talk to her. I feel sooooo bad! But she’s like a stranger to her because she doesn’t see her often but I don’t know what to do about it. It’s almost to the point where my daughter won’t even look at her! I don’t what it is! My daughter doesn’t like when she holds her or tries to change her diaper. I really don’t understand! She gets so upset around her. My mother in law is dying to babysit but I can’t bare the thought of leaving her with someone she isn’t comfortable with. Today my mother in law came over to visit and she fed her the last half of her bottle, burped her...they were good so I stepped outside for a minute, few minutes later I come back in and my daughter is bawling her eyes out! My mother in law hands her to me and she stops crying almost instantly. 🤦‍♀️ after she calmed down I laid her on the floor to play, my mother in law laid on the floor with her to talk to her and stuff, my daughter looks at her and starts crying again! I pick her up set her in my lap and then she’s ok. I just don’t understands this, it’s not like it’s her first time meeting her! Anyone have any suggestions on what to do? Or have experienced the same thing? She doesn’t cry with my parents (she also sees them more) doesn’t cry as much with my father in law...it’s just my mother in law that she doesn’t seem to like and to make it worst my daughter is her first grandchild and she feels like she doesn’t like her!!
