What supplies would you say are must-haves in college?

What is your method of carrying your supplies around? Do you use a binder? A file?

I’ve struggled with carrying my supplies and documents because I’ve carried a shit load throughout the school years. Is there an easy strategy to this? To make carrying supplies around easier?

Regular one subject notebooks- one for each class and I keep a filing folder that has a bunch of slots in my book bag at all times.bA few mechanical pencils and a pen or two, also my planner to help me stay organized and my laptop / charger and cell phone USB cable. I also keep some frequently used meds on me- tums and ibuprofen, panty liners and a few pads (before I got pregnant). I try to pack as light as possible- almost none of my instructors in two years ever use the textbook so I don’t even both to pack them / tote them around.

For classes that don't pass out a ton of paper, I use one of those notebooks with the folder in the front. For classes with more lots of papers, I switch to a binder. Since I never have more than three classes in a day, it all fits pretty well in a small backpack.

So before this year I would carry around a single subject notebook for each class and a folder for said class. I would also carry my laptop and computer charger (but only if my days were super long and I would be using my computer a lot). I also carry a planner. And a pencil ouch full of pens, highlighters, and pencils. Now I’ve switched to taking notes on my computer because I make study guides and print them anyways. It’s just easier to move information around with less hassle and then consumption. I still carry around a couple folders so all my papers are near and organized along with a planner. But I also use google calendar which is a big help. I also carry a computer charger and my phone charger. It all fits in a regular backpack and isn’t too heavy. I walk around comfortably. I also don’t take textbooks with me because my professors never really used it. Unless it was one of my core classes. But now that I’m in my program I’m finding that I’m using my textbooks less and less. Mostly it’s to make study guides for exams.

Do you have a bag? Like a tote or a backpack

Oh. Yeah, for sure. You won’t have as many classes a day so you won’t be carrying around as much either (most likely)

Yes. I think that can work. Is that permitted to be carried around in college classes? I mean, I’m still in high school but I’m applying currently and preparing my mind mentally.
