I saw an argument on Facebook of these girls arguing about when you have a miscarriage you need to go see a doctor or you don’t have to go see a doctor after a miscarriage.

You should confirm that you’ve passed everything but not everyone goes to the doctor to monitor much after that. With my first loss I confirmed at hospital that everything was gone because I passed it all at home but after that I followed up with OB & they watched my levels go all the way back down to less than 5. With my second loss I again passed everything at home naturally & went to hospital they confirmed that everything was gone again & my HCG levels had already dropped by a few thousand since my last appointment so I knew everything was already leaving but this time around I just called my OB after leaving the hospital & told them I had miscarried & levels had started dropping & asked them if it was necessary for me to come in. They told me it was okay to just keep using home tests like once a week to watch the line get lighter & if I had no period within 4-8 weeks to come in & get checked. I would’ve knew the signs of infection or if anything was off. It’s different for everyone though but a confirmation ultrasound & at least one blood draw I think is necessary after having one.

You don't need to go to the ER unless you're bleeding extremely heavily.  You should go to the dr to check for retained tissue.

In the uk, we don’t go to the doctor for miscarriage unless we feel we need to.

I went to the emergency rooms during mine (didn't know at the time) and they didn't even mention to me that I should go see a doctor afterwards. But it does make sense as I know the tissue can cause infection.
