First Time Using BC (Nikki)

So, I started my period today, and I've been prescribed Nikki? I'm 25, married, all that jazz, but have never been on bc because everything was pretty normal. My doctor told me to take it because I suffer from severe cystic acne, and I was wondering if anyone could help a sister out on what to expect when first taking this certain type of bc.
