Do they check cervix?

Question

To the ladies going weekly to the doctor now . Do they check your cervix every time you go in? I went in last Wednesday at 36 weeks and this Wednesday at 37 weeks i start my weekly visits . So this Wednesday will be a week since I last went . They checked my cervix last week , which was the first time getting it checked . Do they do that weekly or just here and there ? Thanks in advance

My doctor doesn’t check unless you ask. I haven’t gotten any cervix checks as I don’t find it necessary.

Mine does then if I want them. Which I do lol. I’m a control freak about my body and I like to know what’s going on. I already know dilation doesn’t mean anything truly but it makes me feel better knowing. They don’t hurt me at all where some women do have pain so if you’re one of those then feel free to opt out. They can’t force you.

It depends on the dr I see. One of mine checks anytime he sees me & then some don’t like too. At 35 weeks I was checked because I had to get sent to l&d to be monitored so he wanted to know if I had dilated plus he went ahead and did the strep b swap. But last week at 36 weeks the other dr only checked me because I asked him to just in case I had any progress.

Mine checked at 36 weeks just because we did the Strep swab then. She asked if I was curious to know, otherwise she wouldn’t have even done it then! She won’t check again until 39 weeks unless I request it. I’m going to try to be patient and wait......

My OB doesn’t check until 38 weeks. 
But after the initial check it was a weekly check unless I declined. It really means nothing so it’s annoying more than anything knowing the numbers! Lol

I’ve gotten checked every visit. I like knowing if my cervix is progressing. It’s comforting.

I’ve had weekly visits since 34 weeks and they haven’t checked me at all. Currently 37 weeks. With my first baby, they never checked until I went into labor and I didn’t mind at all since I’m not a big fan of all the poking & probing. I’m sure if I asked, they probably would though.

I was checked at 36 weeks. Went today for 37 and they said they don’t check again u too 39 weeks unless asked for!
