Milk coming out from nose..?

My baby is three weeks old today, and she’s been spitting up more than usual and after feedings she’s spitting up formula (I bottlefeed and I use similac total comfort) through her nose a lot today. Is their something wrong with her? Should I call the doctor?

Both my daughters had that happen a quite a few times. They both had acid reflux with my first being a severe case. Not saying that’s what’s wrong with your baby. Spitting up a lot is one of the signs, but that’s not always the case. A lot is more that a teaspoon or so and most times it looks like a lot more than it truly is. Does she seem like she’s in any discomfort when she spits up? Does she arch her back after feedings? I’d speak to your doctor about it. You may need to switch formulas.

My baby did this a ton when she was little. I asked her doctor about it and was told that babies are primarily nose breathers so they can breath and eat at the same time. But since everything is connected sometimes when they spit up it comes out their nose. Baby will grow out of it, but it’s not a worry. Just make sure after it happens to suction out baby’s nose to make sure there isn’t any hanging back.
