Open relationships

I’ve been dating this guy for a month but we have technically been together for 4 and he has a crush on another girl. I wanted an open relationship with the last guy I dated. My boyfriend is restless and always was more and I think that the best thing for us might be an open relationship but should I just give him the option of breaking up, working through this and forgetting abt the girl he has a crush on, or the open relationship. I need help because I don’t know what to do espiral y since college is in about 6 months and we don’t think the relationship should be brought to college. He says he doesn’t want to waste my time but I really like dating him and don’t want to loose him just yet. What should I do????
