I told my mom when I became sexually active and that I put myself on birth control, but I didn’t tell her for a while that my first time was nonconsensual because I was a naive 18 year old freshman in college who thought I could figure it out on my own. My mom asked me if I wanted to get on birth control at 15 when I started liking this boy who could’ve have potentially been my boyfriend, but I wasn’t ready and was so awkward that I ruined it lol. My moms a high school health teacher, so she just wants people to be safe and knowledgeable about sex before doing it, which is how I am and how I’ll be with my kids.

I had a pregnancy scare like a year after I had lost my virginity. I had to tell my mom because I didn’t know my insurance information & they would’ve required her to be there anyway. I wasn’t pregnant but she was shocked. Not upset with me just disappointed I didn’t feel comfortable enough telling her. I was 16
