“Once a cheater, always a cheater”?

Do you believe the saying once a cheater always a cheater? 
If you found out your SO (after being together with them for 1 year) had cheated *in a past relationship of theirs*, would it bother you or be cause for breakup?

People can change.   But people don't always change.

Every situation is different. People grow up. People change. Some people bring out the worst in them. Me and my ex mixed like oil and water it was a horrible relationship. But he is now in a relationship and they look normal from what i can tell. And I’m in a good relationship now. Nothing like my past. My husbands ex was crazy with him. Still is. But not that way in her new relationship. Some people just dont mix well. Plus I noticed some people will push limits to see what they can get away with. And if one person keeps allowing bad behavior it will get worse. And some people set limits. I know my ex knew i didnt want to break up my family. So he continued to do bad things. He knew i wasn’t going to leave. Im not afraid of being alone now, and wont put up with crap. People can sense that. So i dont think past relationship issues predicts a person future actions.

Eh people change but man integrity is something you have or don't have, ie self respect and respect for others... I don't know, just seems like something I am not really trying to worry about in a RELATIONSHIP with someone, if you cannot respect me or let alone respect yourself or the other person, then why even bother... a cheater is a special type of person. So depending on what lesson your ex learned and what they told you would matter but out the gate with no tea, RED FLAG...

In one sense yes, I believe if you cheat on someone you don't love them enough to be faithful, so I'd expect them to cheat again if they stayed with that person.
But if it was a previous relationship then  unless they gave reasons to doubt them, I'd like to think they wouldn't cheat.
Don't get me wrong there are people out there who just fuck anything and anyone regardless if there in a relationship or not.

In other words because they were unfaithful with someone else does that mean they are going to be unfaithful to you? 
Too state beforehand there are people who have issues with commitment, serious issues that often lead them to being unfaithful in all there relationships and people like that need to seek legitimate help but you don’t come across that type of person often. 
Then there are dirt bag people who just have no curtesy or respect towards anyone not even themselves who go around cheating on partners ect
Then there are people who just happen to cheat because of many reasons... unhappiness, anger towards the other person could be because they are lacking on giving intimacy wether it’s sexual or emotional, the relationship is done but hasn’t actually ended ect now that being said- none of those reasons are at all an excuse to cheat or being unfaithful but sometimes people make mistakes, people get confused about their feelings or just don’t know how to end things that need to be ended but that doesn’t mean they are bound to repeat the same mistakes in every relationship. People live to fuck up here and there but they also live to learn from the mistakes. 
I was once young, naive and in a really bad relationship. He would cheat on me physically and verbally but I thought I was Inlove, so I didn’t leave... which gave him more power to keep doing things because he knew I would stick around. He was emotionally, verbally and physically abusive  it was a bad relationship I just didn’t see it then, my mind was clouded, i became fed up with his cheating and actions to me and I in turn ended up cheating, was it an excuse? Nope. I should’ve left a long time before I did but I didnt. I took me a while to learn how bad that relationship really was for me as I thought I didn’t deserve better but I learned eventually. I don’t excuse his behaviour, it was wrong but I don’t excuse mine either, cheating isn’t an option you either leave or stay and be faithful but it does not make me bound to do the same mistakes in every relationship fourth on.
Sometimes it’s the relationship not necessarily the person. Not excusing that type of behaviour but shit happens that doesn’t define you though.

Even if they never cheated again would u really want to share your life with someone who thought it was ok to have sex/kiss whatever another person while they were with you?

I don’t believe that saying but I believe every person is different some people change & some don’t it also depends on why they cheated in the first place & how long ago / recent it was. There’s never a good reason to cheat but some reasons are worst than others. I cheated on my first “love” because he cheated on me & I was young & wanted revenge. I did that out of spite & left right after I didn’t stay around hiding it or covering for it I acknowledged my mistake watched his world shatter like he did me & I left. Now 5 years later I would never cheat on my fiancé & he knows that. I have also had partners in between that time frame that I didn’t cheat on & they were pretty damn horrible with me. People change. Trust your gut though.

I know it would bother me and I know it would make it harder to trust them... 
I’ve always thought that if I ever find out I’ve been cheated on, then I plan to walk away and not look back.... 
But i don’t know, maybe it depends on the situation, and I do try and think people can change if they really really want to..

I’m a firm believer in people can change, but If your SO cheats once, I do believe it will happen again. If we’re being completely honest I myself have cheated on a boyfriend in the past. Doesn’t mean I will always be a cheater. I have no urge to cheat on my boyfriend now nor would I ever want to jeopardize our relationship bc I know he’s the right one for me. 🤷🏽‍♀️
