Unfair Salary

What would you do if you had 5 years of experience in your field and found out that they were hiring a new guy (same position) with only 2 years of experience for $5,000 more a year? I am a very dedicated employee and take on roles beyond my position. I feel that I put out quality work. The reason I know about his salary is because it is my husband's best friend - I wish I had never found out! What is the best way to approach this situation?
