The first year...

Liah

I'm a first time mom, 6 months postpartum...

I've been struggling with some postpartum anxiety over the past few months and have seen my dr and got some medication...

I find I'm always tired! My daughter sleeps pretty well. Usually 730-630 with one wake up, I usually go to bed not long after her but am still tired. I have no motivation to cook or often eat... I feel "off" like brain fog...

I've explained this to a couple girlfriends who have young babies and they understood what I was saying and both said it takes like a year to get back to feeling like themselves.

Are other moms feeling like this? I thought it was the anxiety that made me feel like this but ppl are making it seem pretty common. Looking for other ppls experiences.

Talk to your doctor, they may need to adjust your medication. I felt like that on Zoloft but don’t feel that way while taking Celexa but everyone is different. The first medication they give you might not be the one that works for you for the longer term.

It could definitely just be the first year thing, im only 7 weeks pp so i couldnt say from experience. Buuut i do have lots of experience with taking anxiety meds and some of them can cause "fog brain" and drowsiness as a side effect. It might be worth a talk to your doctor

Well I am only 6 weeks pp so I have zero experience to share - BUT my friends said a year too. So it seems normal 🤷 you will get your groove back, hang in there ♥️ I wish I was as far along as you lol!
