Will you tell friends and family when you go into labor?

We let our close family know that we are going into labor. But with both past babies and this baby we asked our families to wait to come to the hospital after the baby is born. So my husband can have just some one on one time with the new baby. We asked friends to wait and vist when we get home.

Last time I told them, and asked everyone to please stay home until baby arrived as it was late. The in laws ignored me and still came. My family respected. We will not be telling anyone this time.

Of course, anything could happen, women have died in child birth, I’d want my close family to know I was in hospital at minimum in the event god forbid something went wrong,

I will be having a repeat C-section, family will know. Our children will be first to come up and welcome anytime, grandparents are welcome also. But while in hospital I want my time with my family. I don’t want baby being passed around or feel like I can’t nap when I want to. So friends will be welcome once we are settled in at home. Any social media about baby being born I hope will be from us and not another family member.

We told our parents and best friends when we were in labor (everyone was out of town anyway). My mom is now 5 hours from us so I’ll probably tell her so she can head out here to help with the toddler. My husband will probably want to tell everyone lol

My friends and family live across the country so I’ll definitely tell them! They won’t be able to just show up, anyway 😝

We’re only telling the people we want coming over since we’re planning a home birth.

My son will need to be watched so we plan to ask my in-laws to watch him since they live 5 minutes away. My parents will know as they live 2.5hrs from the hospital and I want my mom there if possible like she was with my son. There will be no Facebook posts until the following day/24 hrs after. And I will be limiting visitors at the hospital this time around. I had too many people there the night he was born and the next morning before I even got a chance to shower.

We will only be telling my mom and dad and my husbands mom and dad. We will tell everyone when she has arrived.
