Glucose test?

Question

You know that orange drink you drink to see if you have diabetes during pregnancy? I didn’t do it yet or was offered. I just read that it’s horrible and has this and that in it and to say no? Can you ladies lmk what your opinion are?

I don't understand why someone would say no. Does it taste horrible? Yes. But I'd rather hate the taste than have GD and not know it. Which can put you and the baby at risk. Seems pretty selfish and a ridiculous reason not to take the test.

As someone who is a diabetic type 1 and knows the consequences of high blood sugar affecting fetal development why the FUCK would you say no? Do you know what kind of stress your body is under while pregnant??? Probably not because I visibly see how much insulin goes into my body every single day. Do you know how hard your body is working to support you and your unborn child? The baby lives off your insulin as well. 
Having GD and not knowing about it puts the mother and baby at a higher risk of preeclampsia, quick deterioration of the placenta, strains the mother and babies kidneys, eyes and hearts. 
There’s just some things you don’t mess with and the glucose test isn’t one of them 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ 
You are going to believe what a chiropractor puts on Facebook? But not what Medical doctors go to medical school for and dedicate their lives to 🙄 
If your body needs insulin or a strict diet then you should know and be responsible and follow through.

1. It’s crucial to you and baby’s health if you have GD 
2. I would NEVER listen to a chiropractor over my OBGYN. Two totally different school levels. 
3. Refuse what you want but millions of Women do this daily and have perfectly healthy babies.

My doctor switched from these to ones that are clear and have less chemicals but I did have to drink that exact one with my son and we were both fine. But my doctor did tell me they switched to dye free ones that have less chemicals but still do the job.

I did it with both my daughter's, it really wasn't that bad. I just tasted like flat soda. Why would you want to turn down the test?? I understand it has chemicals in it but so do a lot of other things you drink everyday. I'm not 100% sure but I think if you refuse some tests your dr might tell you to find another dr.  IMO Refusing a test that could help you find out you have something thag could harm you and your child is silly.

I had it two times and result was 138 first time n then second time it was 92 in fasting then after n hour of drinking it was 101 n then two hours later 121 n then three hours later it was 150.
