Criminal Politicians?

Question

For the poll, would you vote for a candidate who is currently out on bond awaiting trial on federal charges. 
Bonus Questions: Would their history in office, political party affiliation, or policy positions factor in? Does it matter what the specific charges are?

I just looked up federal crimes online. Other than damaging post boxes, those are all terrible crimes. I wouldn’t want someone like that to be in charge of my country/city/state and hold such a high position of power. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I don't think a politician should be able to participate in an election if they're waiting to stand trial.

I gave this a fair bit of thought and started writing one of my essays lol. Then came back and saw 'awaiting trial'.. in which case I'd say probably not. I'm guessing that without trial, we wouldn't have all the facts and it'd be hard to make a reliable judgement on the matter.

Dude this blows my mind. Bridgeport Connecticut re-elected a mayor who is a CONVICTED FELON. He served time in prison for having shady deals, convicted and I prisoner for corruption, bribery, racketeering, etc, and once he got out of prison who was re-elected! He committed those crimes while in office and legally can’t vote but sure, let’s have him run the city again🤦‍♀️ blows my mind.

A good majority of the politicians in office I wouldn’t vote for. I can’t understand how people keep voting these sacks of shit in over and over again, regardless of constant reminders of terrible character and morals.

Felon's can't work for the government. They also can't vote or be on a jury possess a fire arm and correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think felon's can have a passport.

It really depends on the charge. Federal laws are not the moral code of human kind but the current societal agreements we agree to follow.
Not all broken laws are the result of immoral conduct. 
So yes, I could, in theory, completely vote for someone who, in most other aspects, appeals to my better well being despite having a federal charge.
Typically with regards to the highest position of power, you are always treading on a charge of some description. By the jobs very nature you are pushing the boundaries of power to better your community. And with millions of small print documents surrounding many subjects, quite often something gets overlooked and a charge gets thrown at the person proposing the new position.

Depends what the charge is here In Ireland we have Gerry Adams who was leader of Sinn Fein political.party and he knew about many murders even participated in hiding some bodies in the 80s and bodies still not found
