What does your baby or will your baby sleep in the 1st few months after birth?

Samantha

I’m working on a project about the safety of certain products marketed for infant sleep and the corresponding risk of sids for each. We lost our 12 week old baby girl to sids on 9/25. Since then I have learned and discovered so much about what sids really is and what can be done to prevent it which includes the safety of certain products which are marketed as a safe sleep alternative to cribs. It’s astonishing how little I knew before and how fooled we are by the advertising campaigns and labels on boxes which totally go against all scientific research and numerical data. We are currently in the early stages of a lawsuit against a company who has been sued multiple times before for sids deaths but still has not made a single change to the product design, how they market the product, or the false claims they make on packaging. They know full well that parents trust the brand and that they are putting tiny, beautiful lives at risk but to them all that matters is the bottom line and that’s our money. Please, if you opt to use anything rather than a crib, bassinet, pack & play, or other flat bottomed crib type sleeper for your child do your research 1st. Go online and look it up on American academy of pediatrics or other trusted source. Look at the sids rate as compared to crib sleepers and make an informed decision. Do NOT trust the manufacturer, the advertising, the box, or what everyone else says they used. Educate yourself 1st so that you don’t find yourself searching for answers after your angel is gone and wondering if things could have been different if you only knew then what you know now.
