Advice for a "natural" planned csection

Julie

So I'm currently almost 23w pregnant, and I've been diagnosed with both placenta and vasa praevia at my anatomy scan 2 weeks ago. So I joined the club of high-risk pregnancies, and chances are, I will have to be hospitalized on bed rest around 28w, with a planned csection around 36w. I'm slowly coming to terms with all of this, but I'm having a hard time with the idea of getting the csection.

Up until now, the plan was to have an all-natural unmedicated birth at a birthing center with a midwife and a doula. I wanted soft lights, skin to skin, possibly a water birth, delayed cord clamping, my SO to announce the sex of the baby, you get the picture. I'm lucky that I still have my amazing doula, and she said we'll look into ways we can make this the best possible birth experience ♥️ so I'm looking for ideas of things I can request or talk about with my doctor and doula regarding my csection. I'm meeting my high-risk doctor for the first time tomorrow, hopefully she'll be nice and open-minded about it all 🤞🤞

So what about you ladies? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Or have positive planned csection stories to share even though it wasn't what you initially wanted? Thanks!
