Jett has arrived 🥰

Jett Pierre Similien was born 2/26/19 at 4:05am, 7lbs 15oz & 19 inches long.

BIRTH STORY:

I was overdue at 41wk and 2d which called for and induction that began at 2pm on 2/25. Once things started they progressed along. When I arrived I was 2 cm, ( I had walked and walked and walked all week to go into labor naturally) 2cm was better than none! At 3:00 pm the drs applied a ballon catheter that I lost within a few hours. They started me on pitocin and the contractions really began! My second cervix check 4 hours after balloon insertion showed that I was 5cm and 80% effaced. I was tolerating contractions well after the balloon came out BUT at around 10:30 pm the contractions were so hard and every 5 min after my next check I decided I desperately needed an epidural which was on my birth plan from the beginning. My water broke on it’s own and the contractions intensified. My next check revealed I was 90% effaced and 6 cm. I had to wait for anesthesia so my nurse gave me Nubian (Can I just say that, that was definitely a weird med for labor) The Nubian would help you rest in between contractions, However, I didn’t find it helpful for the actual contraction part. Shortly after laboring for an hour and half I got my epidural which I had to hold very still for because I had a contraction during the procedure. Yikes! The active part of my labor I got nauseated and vomited tmi I know but when it was time to push it took me only

30 minutes and he was BORN. And here he is... we are so in love 🥰
