Me and my husband met at an anime convention. Me and my sister were sitting in a mostly empty hallway to take a break from all the walking. When he and his two freinds walk over. His freind was interested in my sister is why they came by, my husband was pretty shy. We wound up hanging out the rest of the day. I was cosplaying a video game charecter, he wasn't when we met. But turns out, he was cosplaying a charecter from the same game earlier that day. That was 8 years ago. We're pretty nerdy (honeymoon to japan and all lol) but he is such a sweetheart. Its always an unexpected story when asked how we met.

I was at work and answered the phone.  He had a house in St Louis he was renting and needed to change it over into a tenants name.  I had to email some documents he needed to sign.  Nothing crazy on the phone, just nice normal, this is what you need to do, I’ll email it and you can email me back.  He was living back in Texas at the time.  About ten minutes later, a message pops up on FB, and I said, why does that name sound familiar? Whoa, he’s hot! It was just a lovely message about how nice and professional I was and how that seemed extremely rare in my city.  We just started talking.  A few months later we decided to meet.  Our first date was a six day road trip (which can either go terribly wrong or fantastic)!  A month later he moved to Indianapolis (another house he owns) to be closer.  With the four hour distance we say each other pretty much every week with one of us commuting.  A year later he moved here to St Louis.  I’m 43, and my kids are now 22,19&16.  He’s 32, but really took very well to a “fake” dad role.  The kids love him. He and I met in 2016 and I’d been divorced for 4 1/2 years. — I guess my point as that you never know when your fella will show up or where, but one day it just happens!

I remarried almost six years ago.
The first time I met my husband was actually before I met my ex-husband. My college roommate brought him to our room. They were dating at the time.
They got married right after we graduated and I was maid of honor in their wedding. They had a son and moved away. We lost contact for awhile.
Fast forward 3 years from that point, I was going through a divorce and had two little girls. Scrolling through FB one night, I came across a post from my husband stating that he just lost his best friend, his wife. She used to self-harm and cut herself so I assumed she had cut to deep and had passed. Nope. She had cheated on him with a woman and decided that she was really a He and started the early process of transitioning.
We started talking from that moment. Found out they lived in Texas and I was still in Illinois. 
Their divorce was finalized before mine was and We both weren’t looking for anything other than friendship.
We continued to talk a lot and flirt a bit but dating had been out of the question. 
Once my divorce was finalized he started sending me flowers and my girls gifts and started visiting his family in Illinois and coming to see me. We really had a whirlwind romance! We were married a year after my divorce was final!
Oh and his ex didn’t know until the day after I had moved my girls down. His ex had visitation of their son and when I opened the door, the look on his Ex’s face was priceless.
In my defense, “he” (the ex) had cut me out of “his” life from the time they had moved to Texas until that moment. “He” also cut all “his” family out as well.
***please note, I knew my husband’s ex wife as a woman and I still have a hard time referring to her by her preferred label although I’ve been trying hard to do so.
