Sorry it’s long!

My son is in daycare and I send pumped milk for him to eat every day. I forgot to put the bags of frozen milk in the fridge overnight to thaw so I sent them frozen to daycare (along with 2 bottles of fresh milk, so they had to use the frozen milk first).

I dropped him off at 8 and breastfed him before leaving but he wasn’t really hungry so I told them he’d probably be hungry around 9.

They called me at 10 to say he had just woken up after falling asleep in the baby rocker, asking if I wanted to come breastfeed (I work 3 minutes away). I asked when he last ate (I found it strange that he hadn’t gotten hungry until 10), and they said he had started whining around 9, but that the frozen breastmilk took too long to defrost in warm water and he fell asleep by the time it was ready. AKA, he cried himself to sleep. I’m so sad for him!!!

I was like give that baby that bottle right away (I was pumping when they called), yes you can reheat the thawed breastmilk that was only thawed less than an hour ago...

I’m just upset that baby fell asleep hungry. When we use frozen breastmilk at home, we know when he’s getting hungry and put it to thaw before that time so that it’s ready for him. Sigh.
